The West Calcasieu Port Harbor and Terminal District was formed by the Louisiana Legislature in 1964. In 2004 the name was formally changed to the West Calcasieu Port. The West Calcasieu Port encompasses a significant portion of western Calcasieu Parish. The WCP owns a facility (the “Port”) at which commercial activity takes place and is the present center of the Port's growth and economic development.

The mission of the West Calcasieu Port is to effectively serve our community and customers by creating jobs and business opportunities in the region through responsible management of port assets in an environmentally sensitive manner.
